The TIR electronic pre-declaration has now been integrated with the computer systems of the German, Belgian and French customs services. In practical terms, hauliers using the TIR-EPD application can submit their TIR electronic pre-declarations to the German, Belgian and French customs authorities, thereby reducing their waiting times at EU borders. The IRU’s TIR-EPD system is operational in 15 countries.
