According to a letter from the German transport minister, Peter Ramsauer, to his colleague in the state of Lower Saxony, Jörg Bode, a national test of the 25.25-m road combinations needs to be carried out.

A working group is to be created in the coming weeks to discuss the matter.
Thus far, only a few federal states have given their authorisation for a limited number of companies to conduct pilot projects.

Having been put on hold last September, a new aid scheme for greener lorries has just been approved in Germany.

Transport operators acquiring HGVs equipped with EEV and Euro 6 engines (the latter is not yet on the market, incidentally) will receive a subsidy of 1,050 to 2,000 euros. This financial aid will vary according to the size of the company and the emissions class of the vehicle.
But will it be sufficient? After all, the manufacturers are talking about an additional cost of 10,000 euros for Euro 6 lorries. No surprise then that some voices are calling for a two-year postponement of the Euro 6 standard's application.
