According to the Madrid-based business analysis firm DBK, Spanish road transport has shed a quarter of its turnover in two years.

In 2008, Spanish drivers already had to contend with market shrinkage to the tune of 5.8%, reducing revenue from the sector to 18 billion euros.
Last year, the fall was much greater still – 20% according to DBK, cutting the country's road transport turnover to 14.5 billion euros.
