How do you pay motorway, tunnel and bridge tolls in Hungary?
On 1st of July 2013, the electronic, distance-based toll system (DTS) has been introduced on a total of 6500 km (from 1 December 2013) road network of the Hungarian public road network (motorways, highways, main routes).
HU-GO system is compliant with the European Union requirements and the EETS directive.

Who has the obligation to pay the toll?
Trucks and tractors (including tractor trucks) with a maximum total permissible weight over 3.5 tons, as well as vehicle trains composed of such vehicles and the towed trailer or semi-trailer. In the system three categories are distinguished based on the number of axles (J2, J3, J4).
The toll rate is determined in accordance with the requirements of the European Union based on the road type, the vehicle category (J2, J3, J4) and the environmental (emission) classification.
