Starting July 1, Germany will extend the toll network
Germany has announced the extension of the toll by a total of 40 000 km of federal roads as of July 1st. Currently, the fee for heavy goods vehicles is collected on 15 000 km of highways and federal roads.
Tolls are collected, now, on 13 000 km of motorways and 2 300km of federal roads. From 1 July, tolls for trucks above 7.5 tons will be extended to a further 40 000 km of roads.
With the expansion, around 30 000 companies will have to pay toll for around 140 000 additional German and foreign vehicles and vehicle combinations with a gross vehicle weight of 7.5 tons or more.
