Increase of Toll in Italy 2023

The Italian Ministry of Transport accepted the requests of some motorway companies for an increase of the tolls in 2023, after three years in which the previous governments had suspended it. Several motorways are not subject to any increases for the moment, but the biggest one, Autostrade per l'Italia (which manages over 3000 km of motorway), has applied a 2% increase since midnight on 1 January 2023, and a further 1.34% will be added in July 1st.

In other motorways there are currently no increases, even if for different reasons. The Ministry rejected the request for A24 and A25 motorways, for the Torano-Pescara branch, for Brebemi, for Pedemontana Lombarda and for the Consortium of Sicilian motorways.

At the moment, the tolls for some motorway companies that are updating their economic plan remain unchanged: Autostrada Brescia Verona Vicenza Padova, Milano Serravalle, Società Autostrada Ligure Toscana - Tronco Autocisa, Società Autostrade Valdostane, Tangenziale di Napoli, Autostrada dei Fiori - A6, Società Italiana Frejus Motorway Tunnel, Tyrrhenian Motorway Company, Valle d'Aosta Motorway Junction, Veneto Motorway Concessions. However, in these cases the increase could take place after the economic plan has been drawn up.

In some other cases there have been no increases because the concession has expired: A22 Modena-Brennero, Ligurian-Tuscan motorway company - A12 Ligurian-Tuscan section, Venetian motorways, Satap - Turin section, Alessandria, Piacenza, Autostrada dei Fiori, Turin-Ivrea motorway company Valle d'Aosta. Even in these cases, tolls could increase when the new concession is given.
