New rules on minimum wages in the Netherlands

From 1st of March 2020 the Netherlands will introduce new rules on posting. The new rules entail the need to specify a contact person. It is still unclear as to who this may be.

The new rules entail where to pay the minimum wage and make the review to the Dutch authorities.
This is done through the website: https://english.postedworkers.nl/online-notification-portal.

The rules also apply in the field of transport, both for cabotage and international transport. Only transit is exempt.

The review must indicate information on the company, the posted employees, the A1-certificate and information about the company's contact person in the Netherlands. It is this contact person, which is still unclear. The Dutch authorities inform that this can be the posted employee. In the review though, a Dutch address is required.

An annual review can be made for the road transport area. That is, there is no need to make a review for each transport.

The general Dutch minimum wage can be found here and is based on a monthly salary for employees over 21 years of age and represents EUR 1,653.60.

Self-acclaim drivers and other self-employed drivers will also be required to make a report in the system but are not required to indicate a contact person.
