The Intergovernmental Commission on the Frejus Tunnel, at its meeting of 05 June 2020, ratified the measures banning heavy goods vehicles with a maximum total authorized mass of more than 3.5 tons Euro 3 and Euro 4 in the two tunnels from 01 July 2020.
Considering, however, the difficulty related to the Covid-19 health emergency, for carriers, to equip with heavy trucks complying with the above rules, the Intergovernmental Commission authorized the delay until September 30, 2020 for the implementation of the ban.
In the meantime, the transit of Euro 3 and Euro 4 heavy vehicles at the Frejus Tunnel in both directions will be allowed, upon request, with a self-certification attesting the impossibility of equipping themselves with heavy trucks complying with the Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards for circumstances directly related to the above mentioned health emergency.
Attached hereto is the self-certification form to be completed in the case of a legal or natural person.
